What Barcode Scanners Work with PickingPal?
If you’re curious as to what barcode scanners will work with PickingPal, please see our complete guide below.
You can find some great information, including some about barcode scanners in our FAQ.
Barcode Scanner Information
We recommend using a wireless barcode scanner, which you can find on Amazon, as well as other sites.
If you have multiple shipping staff, you may either equip multiple computers/devices with their own barcode scanner, or you may have one person perform pick verification for all orders.
PickingPal should work with any wireless or wired barcode scanner that will successfully connect to a PC, MAC, or even Tablet.
Special drivers/apps are not usually needed for USB or Bluetooth connected devices. However, any scanner you purchase will provide everything you need to connect (or pair) your barcode scanner to your device of choice.
In our shop, we use Symbol P370/470 Wireless barcode scanners that we purchased on eBay. The Symbol P370/470 has a small base-station that is wired to our Windows shipping PCs via USB.
The Symbol handset is wireless and has a scanner-to-base range of 100 feet. Though, we still need to be reasonably close to the PC (20-30 feet) so we can see/hear PickingPal.
